The Pumping Life

Pumping is an ever present topic when it comes to newborns, breastfeeding and how to incorporate it into your every day life once baby arrives.  A breast pump is such a handy and effective tool to incorporate some allowance of others into feeding baby or relieve some extra pressure/start saving up milk for your return to work.  But there are specific ways in which to wisely go about it & lots to know before entering into the world of pumping so that your supply remains plentiful, nipple confusion doesn't occur and engorgement or oversupply doesn't turn into an issue.  When do I start pumping? Biting and Breastfeeding

Biting during breastfeeding can be one of the most uncomfortable and surprising occurrences to happen when all is seemingly going well otherwise. By the time your baby develops their first teeth - you are usually well into your breastfeeding journey. And usually by then, most complications that may arise during breastfeeding have already come and gone. Maternal Mental Health Day was just here a few days ago... and so I am here to talk with you about all th ings related to  maintaining, dealing with and acknowledging the importance of your mental health while you breastfeed your baby. As a mom, you are probably quickly learning that breastfe eding and being the sole nutrition source for your sweet babe means that generally, your needs tend to take a backseat the majority of the time. Mother hood is the ultimate sacrifice, one found to be difficult to adjust to but one of the most selfless and self fulling acts. And once you are in it, you tend to think nothing of the sacrifices you make to continue the successful road ahead. However, ensuring you are in the best health physically, emotionally and mentally is essential.
